The Regulatory Support Centre (RSC) provides support and guidance for those conducting research with human participants, their tissues or data.

Change is coming, see below:
• Transfer of section 251 approvals from NIGB to the HRA is on track for 31 March 2013. The new Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG) will take on responsibilities which currently lie with the Ethics and Confidentiality Committee (ECC).
• The Department of Health has published its response to the HTA/HFEA consultation: their functions will not be transferred and both will be retained with further efficiencies. A review is currently being completed to investigate the feasibility of merging these two regulators. This independent review will report to ministers in April.
• The Ministry of Justice has published a response to the European Union Data Protection Regulation proposals available from the Ministry of Justice website
