The MRC Wellbeing programme
In September 2013 we launched our Wellbeing Programme to the support the real desire across the organisation to make the health and wellbeing of our employees a priority.
At your Unit you will have a Wellbeing Champion (we have 27 of them in total) who looks at providing health and wellbeing initiatives in your Unit that are relevant to your local needs.
You will see regular communications about Wellbeing as we run monthly promotional campaigns linking health and wellbeing improvements to MRC funded research.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
As an MRC employee you will have the benefit of access to our EAP which can be a valuable source of advice and support across a whole range of lifestyle and work matters.
Through the EAP you can gain fast access to qualified counsellors either by telephone or face-to-face, and you can even arrange a telephone consultation with an Independent Financial Advisor.
With all our Wellbeing initiatives we hope that you will remain fit and healthy but if you do get ill, you may receive up to 6 months’ full sick pay within a rolling 12 month period of absence.
In the autumn of each year you will be offered the opportunity to have a flu vaccination.
We work with Occupational Health providers to ensure that during your employment with MRC we are supported with the right professional advice. Our Occupational Health providers also provide checks and assessments on areas which may be specific to your role. They also provide inoculations if you are travelling abroad on business.
