The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA)
This Act gives individuals the right to see personal information held about themselves on computer and in some paper files. Further details can be found on the Information Commissioner's website.
The MRC complies with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 with regard to the collection, storage, processing and disclosure of personal information and is committed to upholding the Act’s core data protection principles.
Requests for information about the working life of an individual are dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act.
