Medical Research Foundation: Funding opportunities for researchers

Applications are currently being sought for:

 

Alexander Fleming dissemination scheme – awards to support the dissemination of specific research results beyond the scientific press to policy makers, practitioners and the public in such as way as to encourage them to factor the research implications into their work (practitioners and policy makers) or lives (patients and the healthy population at large).

 

Puerperal Psychosis - The Medical Research Foundation invites high quality scientific research proposals in puerperal psychosis. The Medical Research Foundation (MRF) is the MRC’s independently managed charity which is funded by legacies and donations from the public. The MRF is in receipt of a restricted legacy which it intends to use to fund a competitive award of up to £300,000 in puerperal psychosis. Applications will be assessed by the MRC research grants process. Applications should be submitted to the MRC’s Neuroscience and Mental Health Board by 4pm on 25th September 2012 for consideration at the Board Meeting on 5th and 6th March 2013.

 

PsySTAR Summer School in Mental Health Research

The first PsySTAR Annual Summer School in Mental Health Research will take place at the Royal Society of Edinburgh on 21 – 22 September 2012. The School is aimed at clinical trainees (FY1-ST4) interested in an introduction to cutting edge research relevant to psychiatric disorders. The topics to be introduced include epidemiology, clinical trials, neuroimaging, molecular biology, stem cell research and genetics. PsySTAR is funded by the Medical Research Foundation and the Medical Research Council.
