The Scottish Section is part of the MRC Institute of Hearing Research, headquartered in Nottingham. The Section conducts psychoacoustical and self-report applied research into hearing impairment in adults, studying how a hearing impairment affects listening and what it means for someone's quality of life.
The Section is jointly funded by the MRC and the Chief Scientist Office at the Scottish Executive Department of Health
