The unit’s research programme investigates fundamental human mental processes such as attention, memory, language and emotion. We conduct behavioural experiments to probe the functional properties of these cognitive systems, build computer models of their operation, carry out neuropsychological and neuro-imaging (PET, fMRI, EEG) studies of the underlying neural mechanisms in the brain, and explore the clinical implications of our research for patient therapy and rehabilitation.
