The Clinical Sciences Centre (CSC) was established as a Research Institute of the Medical Research Council (MRC) in 1999, and is a division of the Faculty of Medicine of Imperial College (Hammersmith Hospital Campus), London, UK. It is now the second largest of the MRC's research establishments.

 

The mission of the CSC is:

 

1. To be at the forefront of innovative biomedical research, including the development of core competencies.

2. In partnership with Imperial College London and others, to promote the translation of its research for maximal benefit.

3. To train and mentor the next generation of leading clinical and non-clinical scientists.

4. To enhance the public’s interest, understanding and trust in science.
