RCaH – The building
The building is ~6500m2 gross floor area including adaptable/mixed use laboratories and equipment for short, medium and long term visiting scientists. The area requirements and design of the building have been developed in consultation with users and stakeholders.
The Complex is a two-floor building with one floor for physical science and one floor for life science laboratories.There are offices for research groups, shared areas, seminar and meeting rooms and a café area. The building is sufficiently adaptable in design to be capable of responding to changes in research requirements and opportunities in the future.
Timelines
Construction began in March 2008 and the building became operational in February 2010, with an opening ceremony in July 2010.
