The Hubs in Trials Methodology Research
In 2009, the MRC established the MRC Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research to create a regionally distributed resource to improve the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation and reporting of clinical trials.
The 8 hubs have varying specialities and each has close links with relevant organisations and groups in their host institutions and local region.
The aims of the network are to:
- 1) promote high quality collaborative methodological research, both between hubs and with other groups, UK-wide and internationally;
- 2) provide methodological advice to the clinical trials community;
- 3) encourage implementation of the most effective and appropriate methodological practice, for example by providing a coordinated package of education and training; and
- 4) work with stakeholders, in particular to agree on shared priorities for research and guidance, and to advocate for improvements in the conduct of clinical trials.
