- Clinical immunology; host pathogen interactions
- Bacteriology, with specific expertise in tuberculosis or pneumococcal disease

We would welcome applications from candidates in the industrial sector for any of the areas listed above or with expertise relevant to any of the work of the IIB. Experience of the diagnostic sector would be an advantage as would experience in information based discovery approaches and/or computational modelling.
Molecular & Cellular Medicine Board (MCMB)
Seven vacancies
Clinical Genetics
- Broad expertise in human and clinical genetics
- We expect the appointee to be clinically qualified
Epidemiology
- Broad expertise in epidemiology exploring the determinants of human health and non-communicable disease
- Epidemiological study design and statistical analysis
Structural Biology
- Strong core skills in X-ray crystallography and broader knowledge across a range of other biophysical methods
- The appointee should have a track record in structure-function studies. Knowledge of signal transduction, cell biology or nuclear biology would be desirable
Industry representative
- Currently employed within, or strong experience of, the biomedical research industry sector
- Knowledge in areas including cell signalling, cancer therapeutics, functional genomics, genetic and genomic epidemiology or drug discover/development would be desirable
Cell Biology
- Expertise in the areas of cell biology particularly (a) membrane trafficking, organelle biogenesis, (b) cell signaling, and/or (c) cell adhesion/migration
- Expertise in cell biology directed towards understanding disease mechanisms would be desirable
- Optical microscopy interest and expertise
Toxicology and environmental health
- Broad expertise within the areas of environmental exposures and human health and mechanistic toxicology.
- Expertise in studying the causal relationships between exposure and disease
- Mechanistic toxicology of environmental pollutants or drug safety science and pharmacogenetics
Developmental and Stem Cell Biology and Gene Expression
- Developmental biology and model systems
- Stem cell biology, including broader cell and tissue biology expertise
- Experience in optical imaging and/or high-throughput gene expression analysis would be desirable
Neurosciences & Mental Health Board (NMHB)

- Two posts, applicants to have expertise covering at least one of: neurodevelopment, neurogenetics, basic neurodegeneration
- Two posts, applicants to have expertise covering at least one of: clinical investigation; drug discovery; epidemiology; addiction
For all posts, expertise in areas of translational research; understanding of industry and R+D; in vivo work and animal models will be an advantage.

Regenerative Medicine Research Committee (RMRC) (formerly TSCRC)

- Cellular regenerative therapies spanning stem, progenitor and differentiated cells
- Tissue repair strategies (e.g. small molecule and biologics for the enhancement of endogenous repair)
- Biomaterial interventions which actively engage repair and regeneration processes

- Immunology with broad expertise in inflammation, immunity and/or infectious disease

From within the above areas, MRC is seeking to enhance the Panels expertise in model organisms, advanced microscopy and in vivo imaging. Applications are welcome from both clinical and non-clinical researchers.
