New approach to supporting collaborative research between academia and industry - the MRC Industry Collaboration Award (MICA)
The MRC has launched a new approach to supporting collaborative research between academia and industry – the MRC Industry Collaboration Award (MICA). Translating research into healthcare improvements and enhancing economic prosperity are key priorities for the MRC and central to the organisation’s mission. The MRC recognizes the important role collaborations can play in helping to meet these priorities.
MICA applications can be submitted to any of our research funding schemes (Programme Grants, Research Grants, Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme, Calls etc.) for which the lead applicant, who must be an academic partner, is eligible. Normal MRC eligibility criteria for MRC grant applications apply, plus applications must involve at least one eligible research organisation and at least one company. For further information please see the ‘MRC Industry Collaboration Award’ web page on the MRC website.
