The MRC funds postgraduate research training through studentships. We do not provide funding to students directly, prospective students should contact the institution at which they wish to study.  An archive of closed Studentships is provided for reference purposes.

Disabled Students' Allowance
If you incur additional expenditure in connection with your postgraduate training because you are disabled, you may be eligible for a Disabled Students Allowance.

Doctoral Training Grant competition
For research organisations who have historically received intermediate levels of DTG funds the opportunity to apply for a more substantial DTG allocation.

In Vivo Science Strategic Skills Awards
Opportunity for Research Organisations in receipt of MRC and BBSRC Doctoral Training Grants to receive supplementary funding to cover the costs of advanced integrative mammalian research skills.

MRC Integrative Toxicology Training Partnership (ITTP) PhD studentship scheme
The competition for five MRC ITTP 4-year studentships funded by the MRC Toxicology Unit to start October 2014, is now open with a closing date of 30th November 2013.

Opportunity for joint EPSRC/MRC Centres for Doctoral Training
MRC is collaborating with EPSRC on its new Centres for Doctoral Training to start in 2014. There are three joint priority areas for which MRC/EPSRC co-funding may be available.
