MRC Integrative-Toxicology Training Partnership (ITTP)

PhD Studentships

Four ITTP studentships are available to start October 2012 funded by the MRC Toxicology Unit. The studentships will be of 4 years duration and will include taught courses in a wide range of aspects of toxicology as well as pertinent advances in molecular sciences.

The emphasis of the ITTP is on aligning modern cell, molecular and systems biology based approaches with other fundamental and health-related disciplines to provide a holistic approach relevant to translational toxicology research and training.

It is planned to hold an interactive meeting on the 11th November 2011 in the MRC Toxicology Unit, University of Leicester between academics and representatives of companies and government agencies to develop potential collaborative projects. It is envisaged that these projects will then be developed into formal applications that will be assessed by reviewers on a competitive basis.

Those potential supervisors and representatives of companies and government agencies who wish to take part in the event are invited to apply as soon as possible with a short paragraph of their interests and expertise. Places will be limited and selection of attendees for the day may include a ‘first come first served’ basis and suitability of expertise.

Applications to be an attendee should be sent to Dr Andy Smith ags5@le.ac.uk by 31st October 2011. Expenses will be available.
