What opportunities are available under Cooperation and the Health Theme?

Programme: Cooperation (collaborative research)

The 7th call for proposals under the Cooperation pillar has now closed.

Cooperation is the core programme of FP7 and has two thirds of the overall budget assigned to it (€32,413 million over seven years).

Cooperation provides funds for research projects (collaborative projects) and research coordination activities (coordination and support actions) across Europe and internationally. Consortia can consist of partners from the public and private sectors.

Cooperation consists of research to meet specific policy needs (i.e. ‘top down’ research). The funded projects must address the topics presented in the relevant work programme. The work programme can be obtained on the Participant Portal.

Research is carried out in ten key thematic areas:

1. Health

2. Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Biotechnology

3. Information & communication technologies

4. Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials & new production technologies

5. Energy

6. Environment (including Climate Change)

7. Transport (including aeronautics)

8. Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities

9. Space

10. Security

The ten thematic areas are illustrated in the chart below along with their budget allocation.
