Organisations join MRC in using Researchfish
Further organisations join MRC in using Researchfish to track research outcomes
Earlier this year Arthritis Research UK, the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Chief Scientist Office, Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates, and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) joined the MRC in using Researchfish to track research outcomes.
In June all current MRC funded research groups received their login details for Researchfish. Research groups that hold funding from other organisations participating in Researchfish also then received an introduction to the system.
In October the MRC and BHF launched their data gathering exercises, and the Arthritis Research UK also started a pilot data collection. The deadline for completion of MRC's data collection is 30th of November 2012. Great Ormond Street Hospital children's charity initiated and completed their data collection exercise in September.
By the 10th of October 2012 the MRC had received submitted data from 145 awards, and more than 2,000 new outputs had been entered against MRC awards.
The number of organisations subscribing to Researchfish has increased to 12 (full list below) and a growing number of these organisations are beginning to actively collect output data via the system. 4 further organisations are in contract negotiations to join the system, and a large number of other organisations internationally are considering using the approach.
In addition 4 Universities (Nottingham, Newcastle, Oxford and Glasgow) have subscribed to the system, obtaining services that help them track progress across all Researchers that are entering data and also begin to analyse their output information.
