Researchfish system launched
The updated e-Val system (“Researchfish”) was launched in June 2012. This system offers significant improvements over the current e-Val approach. MRC e-Val data has been migrated into the new system, and researchers will receive their login details by the end of June.
One major difference is that multiple funding agencies will collaborate to gather output data via Researchfish. From June 2012, as other funding organisations join Researchfish, researchers will be contacted concerning updates to their grant portfolio information in the system.
Researchfish is open for researchers to add and edit output information all year, however the MRC will remind researchers in the Autumn that this information must be updated and formally submitted by the start of December 2012.
We have produced a short briefing on the differences between Researchfish and last year’s e-Val system.
Researchers can raise any questions regarding the system via the online help centre which can be accessed via the top of any Researchfish page, which also includes a list of FAQs.
If researchers have any questions regarding the approach that they wish to raise with the MRC then please email evaluation@headoffice.mrc.ac.uk
