Publications - MRC e-Val 2010

Papers arising from MRC-supported research have been shown to have a significantly higher citation impact than papers resulting from other UK health-related or biological sciences research. Indeed, papers which have arisen from MRC-supported research have over twice the world average citation impact.

In addition, four per cent of MRC papers have a citation impact which is equal to or greater than eight times the world average. This is in contrast to 1.8 per cent of UK biological sciences papers and 1.7 per cent of UK medically-related papers (not including MRC papers). Only 5 per cent of MRC papers published between 2006 and 2009 remained uncited in 2010.
