Next destination - MRC e-Val 2010
The MRC is interested in tracking the career progression of those who have been supported either wholly or partially by MRC funding. Of the 4,434 staff who left between 2006 and 2010, 33 per cent were research fellows and eight per cent were research students.
Data on the next role taken by those leaving indicates a logical career progression. For example, most research students went on to take up post doctoral positions. The majority of staff (62 per cent) remained in the academic sector, with 11 per cent moving into the private sector.
