Infections

The MRC has been carrying out pioneering research on infectious diseases for many years. Today, we continue to make headway in the fight against some of the world’s most challenging illnesses, such as HIV, malaria, measles and tuberculosis. The MRC must respond quickly to a changing world, tackling global challenges such as emerging infections and flu, which – despite major advances in their control – remain a major cause of mortality worldwide.
