Link between fat intake and breast cancer

Scientists found that women who had eaten more than 90 grams of fat per day had twice the risk of breast cancer of those who had eaten less than 40 grams of fat per day. The majority of studies to date have failed to find a link between fat intake and breast cancer, but the researchers in this MRC- and Cancer Research UK-funded study believe that their method of using detailed food diaries detected the hidden link. Over 13,000 women resident in Norfolk between 1993 and 1997 took part in the study.
