Shared Service Centre
Under a Government directive, the MRC, working with the other UK research councils, has set up a shared service centre to provide services in human resources, finance, procurement, IT and grants processing.
The Research Councils UK (RCUK) Shared Services Centre Ltd (SSC) is a separate legal entity, wholly owned by council members.
The aim of the SSC is to achieve efficiencies through improved procurement benefits and consolidation of back office operations, to make best use of resources to enable the MRC to continue to focus on its core activities of medical research.
